The countdown is on!

The countdown is on! What a fun week it's been! I absolutely cannot believe that we have just 4 days left in the year!

Every day we pop one of the balloons on our balloon countdown and read the note hidden inside. It tells us the special theme for the day.

Monday was Art Day- we made tessellations in math and did some drawing challenges using grids to enlarge a pattern proportionately.
Tuesday was Music Day- the students contributed to a playlist that we listened to throughout the day and we used music in our morning meditation.
Yesterday was "Sewing Day" and you'll see the students' gorgeous stuffed animal creations below.
Today was Choose Your Own Seat Day.

Next week:

Monday and Tuesday are normal school days.

Wednesday is Grandparents Day- Grandparents and special friends are welcome to join us for a very sweet CCS tradition. We will gather as a whole school community and the students will ask the grandparents questions about their lives, hear stories, glean wisdom, and celebrate the older members of their community. Then after lunch the Student Council will put on a whole school games event... Capture the Flag? Giant game of tag? Water Balloon toss?

Thursday is Graduation Day- Students arrive at 9:30 with their parents and gather in the hall. Students must sit with their parents for the closing ceremony led by Michelle. Then Team 3/4 and their parents will move to our classroom for a closing celebration. Then it's back to the hall for the 8th grade graduation, followed by lunch to celebrate the graduates.

Team 3-4 Bear Valley Memories

I'm sure that everyone is enjoying their long weekend! I just want to say that I had an absolute BLAST with the team in Bear Valley last week. What a special trip full of so much positivity! Friendships deepened, confidence grew, and super sweet memories were made. Thank you to every one of you for contributing to the success of the trip, especially our amazing chaperones! You made this such a smooth experience for the kids and for me. I couldn't be more grateful. Here are some of my favorite moments:
