We're all getting really excited to go to Samuel P. Taylor on Tuesday! Thanks so much to Genevieve for coordinating drivers (and more) and to all of you for volunteering. It's seriously going to be a blast. The students proposed this trip during a class meeting and since then, have planned the activities for the day. They were able to compromise, go with the flow of the group, and still advocate for their important needs in order to reach a consensus. They earned this!
We'll be doing lots of adventuring by bike and by foot. We'll play some great team-building games, work together to safely build a fire, cook lunch, build forts utilizing our newly acquired knot-tying skills, listen to wilderness adventure stories, and generally get excited for our overnight camping trip with the whole school. Sound fun? Yeah it does! :)
As always, please be on time on Tuesday so we can enjoy as much of the day as possible in the redwoods.
The students need to bring:
a bike!
a helmet
a re-useable plate, fork, and a full water bottle (we'll supply a snack and lunch that works for everyone's health needs)
they should be wearing solid, close-toed shoes and clothes that are good for running around and getting nice and dirty
It can be chilly down there, so bring something cozy and warm to wear
Let me know if you have any questions.
Lovelovelove.
